Shoulder Pain & Cording
Shoulder or chest pain and cording (Axillary Web Syndrome) often occur after surgery, radiation, or lymph node removal, impacting mobility and daily activities. Cording presents as tight, rope-like bands under the skin. Gentle physiotherapy exercises can help restore flexibility and reduce discomfort.
Scar Management
Proper scar management can improve healing, flexibility, and appearance after surgery or radiation. Techniques such as massage, silicone gel sheets, hydration, and sun protection help minimize tightness and discomfort while promoting healthy tissue regeneration.
Safe return to exercise
Exercise prescription that is tailored to your specific needs is necessary to ensure you are safe to resume your activities following surgery and treatment.
Lymphoedema prevention & management
Lymphoedema is a chronic condition characterized by swelling due to a buildup of lymph fluid, often occurring after cancer treatment. Proper management includes prevention strategies including exercise, skin care and compression garment prescription. Therapy may also manual lymphatic drainage, and tailored exercise programs to improve mobility.
Women’s Health
Impaired pelvic floor and bladder function and reduced bone mineral density are common side effects of Hormone Blocking Treatment for Breast Cancer that can be managed with appropriate, personalised exercise prescription.
