Your recovery, our passion.

Gold Coast and Tweed Coast

  • Shoulder or chest pain and cording (Axillary Web Syndrome) often occur after surgery, radiation, or lymph node removal, impacting mobility and daily activities. Cording presents as tight, rope-like bands under the skin. Gentle physiotherapy exercises can help restore flexibility and reduce discomfort.

  • Proper scar management can improve healing, flexibility, and appearance after surgery or radiation. Techniques such as massage, silicone gel sheets, hydration, and sun protection help minimise tightness and discomfort while promoting healthy tissue regeneration. Photobiomodulation (PBM)LASER therapy using low level infra-red light can also be used to promote cellular activity and reduce inflammation

  • Exercise prescription that is tailored to your specific needs is necessary to ensure you are safe to resume your activities following surgery and treatment. Lymphedema specific exercise to promote lymphatic flow and decongestion is also recommended.

  • Lymphoedema is a chronic condition characterized by swelling due to a buildup of lymph fluid, often occurring after cancer treatment. Proper management includes prevention strategies including exercise, skin care and compression garment prescription. Therapy may also  manual lymphatic drainage, compression bandaging  and tailored exercise programs to improve mobility , strength and lymphatic flow.

  • Impaired pelvic floor and bladder function and reduced bone mineral density are common side effects of Hormone Blocking Treatment for Breast Cancer that can be managed with appropriate, personalised exercise prescription.
